Affirmed on Appeal! Illinois Appellate Court Upholds Summary Judgment Following Sullivan Argument

CHICAGO, IL - February, 2010 - After hearing argument by David J. Sullivan, the Illinois Appellate Court upheld the trial court's order granting summary judgment in favor of a health club management company represented by Schuyler, Roche & Crisham's Thomas M. CrishamMichael J. Faley and Mr. Sullivan. The management company was sued by a health club employee who injured herself when some folding chairs that she was setting up fell on her foot. Attorneys Sullivan, Crisham and Faley obtained summary judgment in the trial court, arguing that, as a matter of law, the management company did not owe the plaintiff a duty of care and that her injury was not reasonably foreseeable. The plaintiff appealed and, after hearing argument, the Illinois Appellate Court upheld the grant of summary judgment in favor of Schuyler, Roche & Crisham's client.
