SRC Partner, Nancy Brooks, Writes Article on Payments Innovation and Consumer Protection
SRC’s Nancy Brooks will be moderating a panel discussion about payments innovation and consumer protection at the Consumer Financial Services Committee meeting of the American Bar Association in January, 2019. Nancy wrote an article for that panel discussion entitled, “Payments Innovation and Consumer Protection – Revisiting the 2016 Prepaid Card Rule Amendments.” The article highlights the gaps in consumer protection that result from applying a consumer protection regime designed for traditional prepaid cards to fundamentally different payment products, such as consumer-directed person-to-person payments and digital wallet accounts that may be used for a wide variety of banking services.
