Shareholders Cole, Roche and Hanson Present to Mackrell International Meeting in Athens
Chicago, Il - July 2009
For nearly two decades, Schuyler, Roche & Crisham has played an active role in Mackrell International, a global network of midsize, full-service law firms each dedicated to providing an international presence to its respective client base. Three senior Schuyler Roche shareholders - Michael B. Roche, Charles H. Cole and Douglas A. Hanson - recently traveled to the Mackrell International meeting in Athens to educate co-members about the new Schuyler, Roche & Crisham composition. More than 70 firms with offices on five continents currently comprise the Mackrell International network.
"Being a part of this highly selective group of midsize law firms located in major jurisdictions around the world gives our clients a distinct advantage," explains Doug Hanson, a shareholder and member of the Schuyler, Roche & Crisham Board of Directors. "Most small and midsize firms revert to their Martindale Hubbell reference guide to find a firm for referral when their client needs extend beyond their geographic jurisdiction and/or legal capabilities. More often than not, they have little or no personal relationship with the firm to which they're referring.
"When we refer business to, or provide local counsel for, a co-member of Mackrell International, we have a pre-existing personal relationship with the firm and know going in that a considerable screening and due diligence vetting process has already taken place. In other words, our Mackrell International participation makes us highly competitive with larger global law firms."
Mackrell International meetings are held throughout the year as members work diligently to keep each other abreast of jurisdictional nuances and commercial or professional news to ensure that each member's clients are well-served respectively on the international front.
